Are you curious about starting a business? Transitioning your hobby into a more structured business? Started your business and you’ve realized you may have missed a few things? Not sure what you need to do and what steps to take?

We have information and resources to help you! Business Smart Start is an introduction to owning your own business.

Topics covered include:

  • Basic accounting and tax issues

  • Overview of permits and licensing

  • Writing a business plan

  • Overview of marketing basics

  • Deciding on a legal entity structure

  • Market research

  • and more…

Who should attend: New business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs

Note: Our Business Smart Start class is 3.0 (three) hours long, the topics posted above will only be briefly covered. Upon completing the class you will have the opportunity to schedule a one-on-one appointment with one of our professional business advisors.

Fee: $20 per company for up to four members of the respective company to participate

Other: The Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce is our financial host. The registration fees are allocated to RRSBDC programming.
