Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Information Session is being held in person in the Melrose Library Community Room

Unlock opportunities for your business! Join us for the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Information Session, where you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of the DBE certification process and its benefits.

The DBE Information Session is designed to empower small and disadvantaged businesses with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to thrive in the transportation industry.

During this session, you'll learn:

  • The benefits and qualifications for DBE certification.
  • Step-by-step guidance through the DBE application process.
  • Insights into upcoming projects and contracting opportunities.
  • Engage with resources and representatives from Valley Metro, the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity, Blacksburg Transit, Roanoke Blacksburg Airport Authority and the Virginia Small Business Development Center, Greater Roanoke & NRV during the "Go-Connect portion of the Information Session"

Whether you're looking to start your certification journey or maximize your existing DBE status, this session is your opportunity to gain clarity and connections.

Registration Fees:

Business Owners - $10.00 per person to attend. Coffee, water and light refreshments are included with the registration.

Local, State, Federal Government Agencies - $30.00 per agency. The registration fee includes registration for two people from the same agency, a table to share information about your agency before and during the Go-Connect session of the event, coffee, water, and light refreshments. Refunds are not available. The registration fee for the event covers the planning, preparation, and materials that are coordinated in advance.

Fine Print:

Our workshops, events, and programs are designed with a small business owner in mind. Actionable, sharing of ideas, and takeaways to keep things straight.  Pre-registration is required to receive the instructions to attend the workshop.

The SBDC reserves the right to cancel a workshop/event/program for insufficient enrollment, weather emergencies, and other unforeseen circumstances. Should a cancellation occur we will use the email you provided to contact you. Pre-registration is highly recommended. If an event is canceled or postponed and you have not pre-registered we will not be able to contact you.

The City of Roanoke is our fiscal host. The cost of this workshop is directly allocated to Virginia SBDC, Greater Roanoke & NRV Regional Small Business Development Center programming.
