Topic: Government Contracting

Come and learn everything you need to know about SWaM Certification and how to prepare for success at state or local government contracting!

The Commonwealth of Virginia's procurement agency (and many local government's agencies) have a "set-aside" program that gives priority to Small, Woman- and/or Minority-owned (SWaM) companies.   Companies must apply for SWAM certification to be considered in this set-aside program. This workshop is designed to help guide you through the certification process and assist you in navigating the Commonwealth's online procurement system, e-VA, as well.

Topics covered in this workshop:

  • Details/benefits of the small business set-aside preference program

  • Navigating the SWaM application process

  • Positioning your business for greater success at winning contracts

  • Live demo and walk thru of the SWaM certification website and the eVA website

Presented by Courtney Mustin, Business Services Manager, Virginia Department of Small Business & Supplier Diversity

No Fee - but ADVANCED REGISTRATION is REQUIRED.

This GOVERNMENT CONTRACTING workshop series is hosted by the Virginia Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity and the Central Virginia Small Business Development Center.
