Piedmont Pitch Week 2: Starting Your Business

Thinking about starting a small business?  

Have you already started and realize you may have missed a few things?  

This workshop is for you! 

We review the steps for a successful start, the registrations and regulations, and the components of sound business planning, including financial projections. This workshop will be online via zoom. Registrants will receive a link to connect a day or so before the event.

Follow-up appointments are then available with SBDC, SCORE, and/or CIC business advisors to focus on your concept development, business profile, and/or business plans, including financial projections.

About Piedmont Pitch

The City of Charlottesville Office of Economic Development and Albemarle County Economic Development have joined forces to offer educational programming leading to a pitch competition for local small businesses. Entrepreneurs and small business owners in Charlottesville and Albemarle can apply to participate in the 10 week program including 8 training programs (Business Essentials Training) offered by Central Virginia SBDC and work with a business advisor to hone their pitch and develop a solid business plan. Graduates of Piedmont Pitch have the opportunity to pitch for $15,000 in prize money!
