Topic: Marketing and Sales

Everybody Sells: Why Not Do It Right? Every business “sells” - that is, every business attempts to persuade potential customers to do business with it, to become actual customers. Non-profit organizations sell when they try to persuade individuals and firms to donate money or services so they can pursue their missions. The question isn't IF you should sell. You have to in order to survive. The question is HOW to sell in a way that delivers a successful outcome for all involved. In this workshop, we'll explore misunderstandings of what selling really involves, and how the process - done right - allows the customer to feel good about the encounter, and you to feel great about what you’ve achieved.

Speaker(s): Presenter Steve Hertzenberg achieved outstanding success in the sales and marketing field and has worked for both large and small organizations in industries ranging from food products to medical devices. Steve served as Rosetta Stone’s SVP of Global Sales and Marketing, where he helped drive revenues from $11M to almost $150M in 5 years. Steve now teaches at JMU, where his highly regarded Professional Selling class has helped countless students land sales positions with Fortune 500 companies as well as numerous small businesses throughout the region.
