Fri 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM
Topic: Managing a Business

Did you know that up to 40% of businesses don’t survive an emergency, and 80% of those that do survive the initial emergency go out of business if they cannot get back up within a month? This presentation will include case studies on continuity of operations practices (both positive and negative outcomes), general emergency preparedness information, tips and techniques for providing a safe environment for your staff—both at home and on the job--plus an introduction to the free on-line Red Cross Ready Rating Program. About our Speaker: Nicholas Drauschak has been the Disaster Program Manager for the Shenandoah Territory for the past 3 years and comes to Virginia from his emergency planner role at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences from the University of Virginia and a Master of Science degree from Penn State University in Public Health Preparedness. He is one course shy of completing the State of Virginia’s Advanced Professional Series in Emergency Management and will sit for his internationally recognized Certified Emergency Manager examination this fall. He resides in Greene County with his wife and son.
