Sharing a meal or a drink is one of the most meaningful ways to bridge cultures, which is why diplomats, economic developers, and cultural groups are always looking for ways to incorporate small F&B producers into their engagements with other countries. This marks an opportunity for savvy companies looking to elevate their brand and reach new international audiences.

In this webinar, the Virginia SBDC’s Chris Van Orden will speak with Tyler Savoy, Senior Protocol Officer at the US Department of State in charge of the Diplomatic Culinary Partnership and the American Culinary Corps, about the many ways that small food and beverage producers can expand their global reach by engaging in diplomatic efforts small and large.

Speaker: Tyler Savoy is a decorated U.S. Air Force veteran and currently serves as a senior protocol officer with the Major Events Division of the Office of the Chief of Protocol the U.S. Department of State. In addition to holding major roles in the United States' hosting of a number of high-level global summits, Tyler led the establishment and launch of Secretary Blinken’s Diplomatic Culinary Partnership and American Culinary Corps, a network of 83 distinguished chefs and culinary practitioners from across the country. Previously, he served for 12 years with the Bureau of Diplomatic Security.
