In this workshop we will:

  • Define the terms employee and independent contractor
  • Describe the categories of evidence used to determine worker status
  • Explain how to request a determination of worker status from the IRS
  • Explain employer’s tax responsibility for employees and independent contractors

Speaker: Anika Pompey, Senior Stakeholder Liaison with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). As a Stakeholder Liaison, she is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with tax practitioners, business and industry organizations, and other audiences for the purpose of providing education and outreach on IRS policies, practices, and procedures.
