ICAP and VIPC are excited to host an upcoming series for university faculty on technology transfer research commercialization. This will cover a range of topics about getting university research from the lab to the market, the role of tech transfer personnel, addressing myths and misconceptions, and several programs and funding opportunities that help researchers progress their work.
In addition to the ICAP and VIPC teams, there will be representatives from Mason, ODU, UVA, VCU, and VT. Each session is listed below.
• September 26th at 1pm - University Tech Transfer: Overview of tech transfer and the role of the tech transfer office, as well as addressing myths and misconceptions and highlighting examples
• October 3rd at 1pm - Commercialization Pathways: This session will cover the different ways research leaves the university and provide examples of each
• October 10th at 1pm - Commercialization Programs and Funding Opportunities: Overview of the programs and funding opportunities from the federal government and from organizations within Virginia
Fee: No Cost
