Ice-Cream Manufacturer and Retailer

For two years, a local SBDC worked with a professional chef who wanted to develop a line of signature ice creams. The SBDC helped him with feasibility studies, product testing, packaging, distribution, marketing and a host of other issues. With the help of the SBDC, Sinplicity Ice Cream began appearing on the shelves of local stores such as Sutton Place Gourmet and numerous restaurants had their signature flavor of Sinplicity Ice Cream. Sinplicity provided desserts for the Ronald Reagan Building. This was not enough for the chef who dreamed of his own restaurant that would showcase his gourmet ice creams and desserts. With the help and experience of his SBDC counselor, an SBA guaranteed loan was obtained and Sinplicity Café opened in October of 2003. The ice cream now has an East Coast distributor and is carried in New York in stores like Dean and DeLuca and Sinplicity Café is gaining a steady following in Crystal City.
